Default FOr those that are lowered

What kind of shocks are you going with, I have the Eibach Prokit springs on and I love the stance and over all it handles very nice except its way to soft in the rear, I get tire rub in the wheel well all the time. What is everyone using and how do you like them, did you just replace the rears or the struts too. Thanks...

I had to roll the back passenger fender to keep it from rubbing. To me it was worth it.

First off, this sticky is very handy:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspension-brakes/422236-lowering-guide-newbies.html

What size are your rear tires/rims? If you're rubbing with 17x9.5 rims now, my guess is either the springs are too soft, the shocks aren't cutting it, or your rearend is off-center after lowering it. Or a combination of all three. Is it rubbing on both sides? If it's just one side, it's likely an off-center rearend, which can be fixed with an adjustable panhard rod bar.

My passenger wheel started rubbing when I went to 275/35 on the rear and I have been trying a few things to get it to stop but it still does it. I have raised the car about a 1/4 of an inch in the rear and that helps. If I get an adjustable pan hard bar to try to correct it how do you set it up and know it's right?

FirehawkNS:

There is a thread about that question on this page. How to adjust the PHR.

99WS7

I like the Bilstein shocks that Sam Strano has revalved for the Eibach spring. Obviously valved to match. With the Eibach's ( and others ) you will end up having the fenders rolled. I autox'd on mine before getting them rolled and it tore shreds and chunks out of my Nittos.

The eibachs are notorious for being soft/saggy in the rear after settling. I went with the intrax springs a full -2"+ all the way around and I am running 18x12s w/335s believe it or not! Very happy with the look and increased handling so far. A bit stiffer ride than stock but that's the trade off.

thanks for all the tips, I'm going to have the fenders rolled asap, just need to find someone in town that knows how because I have never done that before and don't want to screw it up.

churprokabra, I have a panhard bar but I may need to adjust it some. The rears are sitting on Fikse 17x11 with 315's so there pretty wide. Hopefully with a much stiffer shock the tire wont come into the wheel well so much and getting the fenders rolled should keep the tires from getting jacked up.

My guy rolled them flat using a heatgun so as not to destroy the paint. If the body man you mentioned doesn't know what to do, find a new bodyman who does.

Stainless Works, a sponser to the right, can do it for a good price.

Where in Texas are you? I rented a fender roller and heat gun from Tony (Nine Ball) and did both mine and another guy's on this board. I didn't roll them flat, just enough to get them out of the way. I hadn't done it before either, but with the right tools and a little patience, we got both cars done in a few hours.

As for adjusting the panhard, jack it up from the rearend, put jackstands under the frame rails, then crawl under there and measure the distance from the tire to the fender well in a couple spots on both sides. If everything is centered, you probably just need to convince your fender wells to stop hitting your tires. This can be done with a hammer.
