Default Cutting coil springs...

Alright here's whats in my head.

A car I bought ('99 Z28) has stock front springs and the rear springs are a thin lil lowering spring and it sits down in the back real bad. Im currently trying to find front lowering springs to even it out but if I cant....

What about cutting one coil off the front springs? I know cutting the springs is supposed to be bad but some local guys cut 1 round off (cant remember if its at the top or bottom but aparently it matters) of the front springs to lower the trucks a lil over an inch and they all claim they still ride stock.

Opinions?

Been there. Done it. Cut one coil off the top with a cut-off wheel on a die grinder. DO NOT USE A TORCH!!!
