Question Bilstein HD ?

Im looking for a set of Bilstein HD's for my Z. One of the sites has them for 1993-2002 Camaro. My question is, are these shocks for v6 Camaro or v8's, or are they all the same. The site does not specify. Any input would help. Sam.

I think they would be the same. Summit has a good price right now on a set.

Most of the sponsors sell stuff for LS1s or they wouldn't be sponsors. HD's aren't usually ran on V6s so i think you're safe.

i found them on there for 95 bucks a pop, is that the going price? seems pricey for me. il buy them at the cheapest place, even if that means not from a sponsor. sponsors do support the forum... the forum owners wallet. im on a few forums that have no sponsors and work fine and others that have only a handful.

You can find them for $66 a pop for the rear and 78 for the front. That's about $290 including free shipping!

Most of our sponsors have in the $320-$330 range. Where did you see them for $290.

Did you see that his post was edited? ONLY Sponsors prices are allowed to posted. Send him an e-mail or PM to solict non-sponsor pricing info. Otherwise, google the part and search for a better deal. BTW, some sponsors may match or beat it if you get it from a reputable site.

I sell them all the time for $329.... That's fair market value, and not only do you get a quality shock, but also advice and input you cannot and will not get from random internet websites.

Stick with the vendors who you can always find should you need them, and who know your car, and who can tell you if the parts you are looking at buying are the ones you really are best served by. Not everyone is best served by HD's. Volume, faceless companies aren't going to tell you that, or care. I do, and often the HD's are the best choice, but more often because of other parts or goals, they are not.

You have to realize that "revalving" is the act of making the damping different than the baseline shock. HD's are generally around the $330 mark, give or take, for a set of 4. SLP shocks list @ $399, but because they are trying to dump inventory you sometimes see them down around $300 for a set. Now, they are technically revalves because they are not HD's.

However, SLP's are actually all the same. And they are "valved" for SLP's springs, not stock springs, not other lowering springs.... and while they are not HD's, they aren't really "revalves" either, because they are all the same and mass produced, which makes them less costly because you don't have specialized work being done

When I revalve shocks, we actually change the damping of each set individually based on the use, springs and other parts used on that car. They are not mass-produced and are not the same.

$329 plus shipping which varies depending upon exact location, but around $20 to Florida.
