having handling problems help! I got my car a couple weeks ago and i have noticed my car is going every which way, the tires are 275s and the guy i bought it from said it grabs every bump, and hole so that it will go every which way, but its very uncomfortable and i cant have a smooth ride..i know these cars arent made for comfort drives but is there something wrong??? tires are crap, wheel alignment, shocks, struts, not sure what it is, im going towards wheel alignment but not sure maybe someone else is having this problem?
The other owner may have installed polyurethane bushings. I installed poly bushings on varies suspension parts and now I can feel every little bump but I got better performance so the trade off was worth it to me. You may also want to make sure the lower contral arms, panrod bolts are tight. After I installed poly bushings on my lca when I accelerated the car jerked sided to side, very little but noticeable to me. So it turned out that I hadn't tightened the lca bolts enough. So check the bolts and look to see if you have poly bushings or ask the previous owner. You may also want to look into getting some shocks too if your shocks are older.
I'd also recommend a strut tower brace, made my car go in a straight line and less jerk from the steering wheels when I hit bumps on the road, plus it helped some with fish tailing.
that could be the problem, at lower speeds 0-40, if i go on full throttle after 1st gear and it shifts my car will slide slightly from left to right, not bad but if i were to do that at a turn...oh man thats disaster
