Default Help with Rear Control Arms

Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of Non-adjustable and adjustable rear control arms. Where is it nessesary to use adjustable ones?

The only time you should have to use and adjustable lower control arm is to space the tires back in the wheel well to help fit a larger tire on the car.

"Adjustable" is really more marketing than anything else.

The adjustment part is a by-product of the way the threaded ends attach to the tubing that connects the 2 ends.

Setting it to stock length is best.

As Mitch said, the adjustment is a byproduct of having rod ends threaded into each end of the tube. The real question should be, what are the advantages of using rod ends (which happen to be adjustable) compared to poly ends (which usually are not adjustable). Because of the way the axle moves when cornering, the control arm bushings need to be able to allow some twist without binding, and rod ends do this better than poly.

People who are primarily interested in drag racing seem to be happy with poly, though rod ends will work just as well. People who care about cornering usually end up replacing the poly with rod ends for more consistent handling.

If I were going to buy then again i would get a poly on one side and a rod-end on the other. I like the Spone stuff.

I have Spohn Adj. Poly/Rod LCAs & PHB.
(Poly on the body end, Rod on the axle end.)

I read as much as I could on the subject and decided on these as a good compromise between control/comfort/price. They use good quality teflon-lined rod ends.

They came originally set to the stock length and the alignment shop adjusted them to properly align the rear axle (it was a bit off, even with the stock parts).
