I have a feeling that it will be time to change my shocks and bushings before too long in my Z, probably over the summer. The car has 95,000 miles on it and still has the factory shocks and such on it.
I would love to be able to lower it slightly. I do not want to slam it to the ground, but just enough to decrease that gap between the tire and the fender well.
I am also on a tight budget and I plan on one day putting a set of headers and y pipe on the car. (Not anytime real soon)
What would be the best set up for the money, including shocks and springs that will lower the car, probably around 1.5"? A website that would include images and prices would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
-Bryan

I've got ground control adjustable coilovers in front, and weight jacks in the rear. Never have to use a spring compressor again and I can alter the height at each corner. Grotyohann longtubes...boy, that's a word I don't see much any more.

The front springs are 10x2.5x650, and the rears are 8x5x300.

rear: strange drag shocks, bmr springs. front: qa1 strange drag springs (300lb). kooks LT. Traction isn't bad. I pulled a 1.6 60' so it can't be that bad right?

Eibach Sportlines w/Bilstiens at all 4 corners...running them with my SLP LT's, believe it or not no problems other than avoiding large speed bumps.

I have an Eibach Prokit, but still stock shocks on there Would I see great improvement to something like revalved shocks? I just dont wanna rush into paying $500, and dont have the money to at the moment. I do scrape on some speed bumps no matter how slow i go

You will need relocation brackets, I didn't have them when I first lowered and noticed a lot of traction loss even on the street and I'm only lowered 1". If you can't afford shocks when lowering, I would hold off on springs untill you can do both at the same time, especially with the Pro Kit.

With the sportlines, do you need relocation brakets?

Is there a webiste that lists all the available options with springs and shocks with prices?

I have longtubes waiting for install but using Ground Controls, check WS6store for the best price on those. I can get whatever drop I want, slam it, rake it, point the nose to the moon, whatever. They kick *** and I wish I bought them instead of the prokit originally. 450lb. front, 150lb. rear.

BTW, I recommend relocation brackets for any f-body with or without a drop. Even with the stock springs, I could feel a night and day difference in traction and the amount of wheelhop under hard acceleration and broken surfaces.

Good luck trying to reuse the stock shocks too, haha. You will most likely destroy the fronts getting the assembly apart. I know it's more cash to cough up, but if you're going to do it, do it once and do it right. At a minimum, have some new stock decarbons ready to throw on.
