Default New suspension setup....

I am installing Koni SA shocks and Ground Control coilovers with 500 lb and 150 lb springs front and rear respectively. I am fully aware of the pros and cons of coilovers on a daily driver. I have specific reasons for choosing my own drive heights and corner weights to suite my style of driving and it's requirements.

Please no debates on wheather or not to use coilovers on a daily driver.

500 and 150 are pretty close to the set G2 springs set up if i remember right
Im running re-valved Bilstiens which were a comprimise and may or may not be as well mannered as the Koni's on a lowered car....the ride is.......Not stock..firm..very firm...

At freeway speeds..you get the feeling that your very planted..at slower speeds....firm..very firm...

500/150 is softer than G2 springs, significantly so at the rear of the car.... 500/150 is a good setup. Won me a National Championship. Those rates are more similar to Hotchkis and LT1 Pro-kits than anything

I recall G2's being 550 front, 170 or 180 (can't recall which) to 220 rear. They are quite stiff.

Same Coilovers I run. How much did you end up spending on the setup. I run GC springs with mine. KYB shocks, going to go with Konis soon. Here is a pic of the front.

You of course know that your coilovers will not fit the Koni shocks. Their (Konis)diameter is larger than the KYB shocks and will not fit inside the coilover monts. My cost was $1040 shipped for the Koni SA's and the Ground Control Coilovers.

SOMSS...thats the same setup Im running with a host of other aftermarket suspension parts. The 500/150 combo is perfect for my needs. Its a little rough on bumpy roads but find a smooth twisty road and you will be grinning from ear to ear.

Get yourself a set of SFCs while your at it for additional strength.

I was thinking the same thing. I wanted the adjustability too but what's wrong with using them on a daily driver?

There is nothing at all with using coilovers on a daily driver, I am! I couldn't find a spring setup that was to my liking. They are either too low or too stiff. This way I can choose my spring rates and the ride height. I think it's a simple choice.

For the record I have BMR - Sway bars 32mm solid, 21mm solid (front/rear), SFC, STB, Torque arm, LCA's, Adj. PHR. My car is as tight as a drum, it now gets the final piece to puzzle Koni SA shocks and Coilovers.

But if there aren't any cons then why was it even mentioned? I know you didn't want "debates" on this but I only have questions. I also wanted them to be able to perfect the stance, ride height and quality on my own, especially if you went with adjustable shocks too.

I was saying I use kyb shocks going to upgrade to koni, didnt say they would fit my coilovers. Thinking of doing away with the coilovers.

The Koni SA's are really great. The choice of using coilovers or springs is a purely personal decision.
The only draw back to coilovers I can find is the expense compared to a set of coilsprings.
