Yes, I appreciate it. I'm awaiting more results for the drag racing, since I think I want to go that way. I just want to still be able to drive it on the street. I don't take hard corners at all so that's not a concern of mine. I just don't want it to be the equivalent of trying to drive a full spool on the street, which is not any fun from what I hear. So finally, I made my decision. I want something good for drag racing, but still be able to drive it on the street.

id look into UMI's torque arms. they're cheap and from looking at their chassis mounted one, it has much more clearance than my spohn. did you say you had relocation brackets? if you want to be able to comfortably drive the car on the street and at the strip, then id do a koni sa/da setup, but that is expensive. Sam however doesnt recommend chassis mounted TA's and his reasons are justified. i havent seen them proven, but it makes sense. you also have to ask yourself how many times a year your car will see the track. if less than 10-12 then id go with a more accomodating shock instead of one geard to drag racing. IMHO.

My torque arm is not chassis mounted. It mounts to the same place as the stock one. I already have dumped duals and have no clearance issues with the torque arm. I really don't see a reason to get another one unless this one will break or something, which I doubt it will.

BTW can you talk on aim. Makes things go A LOT faster.

777 (great unsername BTW, but anyways), sorry if you felt that you were flamed by us. It simply wasn't my or any other's intentions, but the fact is that you may not be able to completely rely on such a broad request so what we tried to do is to deduce what you could use with what you got and attempt to choose an item that is made up to a standard rather than down to a price. Love it or hate it, it's kind of like the expression, "no matter how you slice it, it's still bread."

I know that I and the others seem to have "flames shooting out of our mouths" when we post, but that's simply not the case. We're trying to share our principles from our knowledge and experience so you can possibly avoid many of our "purchasing pitfalls" but in any case it's your life, your money, and your decision.

Best of luck on in your endevours.

I actually thought your post to be useful. I'd kind like to know what's the deal with the hal's then. Since when did they stop being the number one drag shock. I think my last post dictates most clearly what I want to do with the car. I'm sorry that I was so vague, but I'm not really educated in suspension. I'm most likely going to be taking a lot of weight off the front (k-member, a-arms) so do you think I should just wait it out until then?

BTW, no need to apologise. I read posts exactly like they are, however I too overlook certain details somtimes. Contrary to certain members' output, I have no problem with criticism, just as long as it's pertinent to the foundation of the post, and not some contrived judgement about me supposedly submitting "subliminal grammar", however you will notice that I refute any simplistic findings as I expect others to do so as well.

From several of my friends' experience, from Sam Strano's posts, and from some others post around here, it's not to their quality of performance, but rather their quality of engineering. For their price, I'm weary of spending on something where the ***** will break off, the shocks will leak, or eventually, the shocks will cavitate when I need them to perform in the necessary manner.

As you see, I don't agress, but I will not pull punches either. These are simply defects that I have discovered, not what "the world needs now."
