Default Torque Arm Question

Im thinking of buying a torque arm and it looks like the torque arm for long tude headers and Y pipe is stronger than the regular one with the mount on the transmision, i'm thinking on getting headers later-on. My question is, can i put the the torque arm for long tude headers with the stock exhaust set up?
or is it not going to fit, or should i wait untill i get the headers? Thanks

Are you talking about the TA with the little u on the bottom for clearance of the y pipe? If yes then for sure it will work with the smaller factory crap.

Do your exhaust first and then see if you have room for the straight brace. That's preferred if it will fit for ground clearance. Also make sure you get an adjustable torque arm.

you will want to make sure your TA will clear your y-pipe let alone you have enough clearance after your y-pipe is on. since there is two versions of the crossbar type TA... one is better for clearance and the other is not so quite friendly

You will definitely be unhappy if you buy the version from Jegs as it entails drilling MANY holes thru your DS tunnel/floor of car to bolt the large sheet metal dohickey that holds the T/A front mount.

If you plan on making any power in the future go with a T/A that removes the front mount from the tranny tailshaft and relocates it to a brace that bolts where your stock tunnel brace was.

I personally used the Spohn Adj. T/A for Lt's & the dual DS Safety Loops with my JetHot Hooker LT's/JetHot ORY/GMMG Catback - no install or clearance issues.

Will that T/A fit with my 3 point SFC?

That I'm unsure of - you would have to call Steve at Spohn to get a definitive answer from the guy that would know for sure.

My SFC's are the 2-point version so there is no problem
