Default Brakes squeaking when not in use.......

When im driving in a parking lot or at slower speeds I have noticed my brakes making a squeaking noise........when I apply the brake the squeak stops....anyone have any ideas????

How old are your pads and is the anti-squeel backing still in place on them.

it could be the matalic pads doing it or maybe u bent an axle

They are about a year old i think.....had them checked and was told they were fine but who knows unless you check yourself......I dont think it would be a bent axle cause it seems to be coming from up front but ill keep that in mind in case.

brake squeal comes from vibration between the chatter plate and brake pad. Just apply some white lithium grease or caliper grease to the sides of the brake pad and put back on. don't get grease on the pad surface though!
