SFC problems - Question?
I installed a pair of BMR weld-in SFCs last summer 2 months before the car went into storage.
After the SFCs were installed, I noticed a lot of different creeks, squeeks, and an assortment of loud and unpleasant sounds coming from all over the car (especially the rear).
The guy who put them on raised the car using a regular lifts... it was not a drive on lift. The suspension was not loaded.
Im thinking all the sounds coming from my F-Bod are due to improper installation... the suspension needed to be loaded when they were wleded on, correct?
Anybody else experience anything similar to this or Im I just crazy?
Thanks,
Id imagine its gonna be a real pain in the *** removing them, but my my car should go back to 'normal' (how it was before the SFCs install) after I remove them, no?
Thanks

The connectors definately shouldve been put on with the suspension loaded. One other thing to check before you go tearing them out it the bolt torque for the lower control arms. I believe its around 90 ft lbs, you may even have to go a little more. When mine were installed the first bump I hit it sounded like the rear end was going to fall out of the car
So if those bolts arent tight its going to make ALOT of noise. The proper way to tighten them would be to put the car on a drive on lift or the ground if you have to (as level as possible), loosen the bolts a little bit, jounce the car up and down a few times so the suspension can settle, and then tourque them to 90 ft lbs. If it still makes noise you can tighten them a little more maybe 105-110, after that if it still makes noise something else is wrong . hope this helps The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
