Default Odd Squeak

I have a 1999 Camaro SS hardtop equipped with the T-56 tranny. Just recently (recently meaning about two days ago) the rear of my car began squeaking. I could understand something like this occuring with a high-mileage car, but my car is just under 13K. I am posting this in this section because I am pretty sure it is the rear suspension since it appears to make the squeak only when the suspension is being used (I'm aware that it is always being used, I mean when the suspension encounters more "extreme" use than riding over a nickel). I am still using the factory suspension (no SLP upgrades that I am aware of - no options sticker on passenger door - so whatever the SS's come with from SLP or Chevy). So it squeaks when I go over a speed bump, or just simply get out of the car. Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this so prematurely?
Thanks in advance!
-Tyler

Can you describe the squeak a little more? Is it like a chirp, or something a little longer like a creaky squeak?

Bushings may be worn or need regreasing. The swaybar bushings are generally the culprit.

I'm sorry. It is more of a creaky kind of squeak.

I have the same issue. I believe it to be my rear isolators on top of the springs.
Will know for sure once I get the new shocks in and perform the hose mod a.k.a. removing the isolators.

Indeed check your sway bar bushings. I had a similar squeak going over speed bumps. I had my brother push down on the rear of my car and noticed it was the sway bar bushings. I used WD-40 and the squeak is gone.

My mechanic told me never to use WD-40 or any other spray lubricant on my bushings. He recommended using only synthetic grease

Just wanted to share the info with others

Well it's been raining today and since this is my daily-driver, I had my first experience in the rain with the car. I am assuming that water from the road got to the bushings (or whatever it is that is making the squeak) and I didn't hear it once while going home. I guess the water "lubed" whatever the problem was? I will post more updates as the weather lets up some and I can have some dry runs to see if the squeaking persists.

Get some white lithium grease from a parts store and use the straw to lube the bushings on the swaybar. That cured some squeaks on my car.
