Since you are looking for a dual purpose car, you might consider keeping the stock springs and upgrading to a set of Koni shocks. Then you could use the lower spring perch on the shocks up front and remove the upper spring isolator in the rear. That should get you about 3/4" lower. Plus the Koni shocks are adjustable and that could help you with tuning the suspension at the drag strip.

I personally have custom valved Bilsteins and Hyperco springs. Looks good, but I am planning on upgrading to the Konis soon cuz the Bilsteins are blown in the rear. I would think that most aftermarket lowering springs are going to be too stiff for a street/drag car. I use mine for street/autocross.

I used to have a dual exhaust kit on mine with the springs above...it tucked up well, but I still had some problems with speed bumps and high center situations.

However you decide to lower it, don't go more than an inch on a daily driver.

Hey whats up man. Glad to see you got a new ride. Give me more details about the car sounds like a nice one. I am about to lower mine with Hotchkis springs which lower the car around 1-1.25". BMR springs lower about the same but if you talk to Sam he will probably tell you to go with the Hotchkis because of the spring rates. If that is to low go w/konis and the lower perch setting with the !isolater.

I have tsp true duals and g2 super springs which lowered my car 1 1/2 inches. The only time I ever scrape is going into my buddies housing allotment over this mountain speed bump that is about 4 feet long and 6 inches high! My vote would be to go ahead and lower the car about an inch. I tucked my true duals up real good, though.

What you see in my sig is lowered with true duals...if you can tuck them well, you can generally get away with it. I still have to be careful though.

It actually sits on Ground Controls up front with Hotchkis springs in the rear (on a different rubber isolator)...sits a little (and I mean LITTLE) bit higher than a Prokit.

With the duals, I think it is about 3" at the lowest point (driver's side), but I'd have to double check.

okay, thanks! on another note: how long will i be able to drive on stock shocks if i throw on the prokit? will this effect my traction at all w/o a shock upgrade?

I don't think it would affect traction as much as it would ride quality. Prokits sit low, so your stock shocks won't have a good ride for long.

You will lose traction after lowering your car whether you put shocks on or not. You'll need LCA relocation brackets and adj. panhard bar to get the rear back where it should be and correct your LCA angle. Then you'll have your traction back.
