Default Hal shock spring cups....?

How many people are reusing the stock springs when installing HAl front shocks, and what are you using for spring scups to retain the springs? I knwo that the factory ones can be machined and be reused, but does anyone sell an aftermarket one that will work with the factory springs? Or, if I decide to go with an aftermarket spring, like a 300 lb HAL spring, what are being used to hold those springs in place? I have the shocks.. just want to know if there is any other way to get the stock springs on without reusing the factory pieces, or if I decide to go with the hal springs, what holds tehm in place.

Thanks!

If you want to use a stock style spring, BMR makes spring cups/seats for $50 a pair. Or like you said, you can have the stock perches machined to fit over the spanner nut. I believe the QA1 springs sit tight in the spanner nut that comes with the shocks.

I assume that only one set is needed to complete the task. I have a price on getting the stock cups machined.. but at 50 bucks for teh pair, it may be cheaper to just get teh BMR ones. I'll have to look into those, thanks.

Yeah, you only need one pair. I just checked BMRs site and they upped the price of the spring cups to $70. I would say screw that and have the stock ones machined, the stock ones are alot lighter anyway.
