Default PHB bracket form Jegs...

JEGS sells a bracket for the panhard bar and states that it is necessary when lowering a car. I do not see anyone else selling a version of this bracket http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...1319&langId=-1 so is it really necessary or is the adjustable panhard bar all you need?

err...

If you PM me I can give you another web resource to consider, but I don't desire to post it here due to my personal "ethics."

depends how particular you are about your setup. Ideally you need the panhard bar to be level with the axle. And most times, lowering puts it off level. So a bracket is needed to correct. But its overkill for most folks.

I'd like to have a watts linkage myself.. and as **** as I am, I'm not about to start fabricating.

I have been thinking about the whole issue in suspension geometry change and I kind of think that it does make a differance in haveing it if you lower youre ride.

Do you have a picture of a "watts linkage"? What is it?

A Watts uses two bars and a center pivot. It keeps the
location centered across full suspension travel.

The Panhard on these cars is pretty long and you don't
get -that- bad a deflection. My bar, dropped 1", is just
about dead level. That means close enough to zero
lateral deflection unless I see a lot of suspension travel.
If I had 1" of jounce, the lateral deflection would be like
1/80" (if I do the trig right). Ooohhhh, scary.

Funny how many things are "required", and I never knew.
Marketing material can be so informative.
