Well yeah I would believe so...but I'm talking about the kits. I don't know much about the ABS stuff on cars...the channels in the kits confuse me. Which kit do I need for my car, 01 Z28 A4 w/ traction control

I bought the abs delete 4 channel kit with line lock and flaring tool for $200. Was pretty easy install if you have mech ability. If you have traction control you have 4 channel if not its 3 channel

the 2 kits are the exact same except one has a hurst solenoid and the other is prolly a hurst with no name on it! I went for the no name and am very happy with it. if you wanna keep the abs the slp line lock kit is way easier to install takes like 30 min cause you only replace 2 lines

No I want to take off the ABS so I guess I'll go with the no name kit...I might drive my car 5 miles on the street in a week, so not having it won't hurt anything. Thanks for all the help!

So what are you taking off the ABS for? Autocrossing or what?

they said it almost 20lbs. I have taken everything off the front of the car that I don't use...washer fluid, A/C, batter relocated to back, and pretty much anything I could find that I didn't use.

Just to clarify a few things for you guys.

The ABS delete kits regarding solenoids are very small. Differences in price are essentially due to the LL solenoid itself. The Biondo style solenoid will work the same as the Hurst. Differences lie in the materials used. We carry different solenoid combos for the guys whom want to use a specific style...

Our ABS delete kits allow you to remove ~15-20 lbs depending on the year and if you have traction control. For the price, this is a VERY good bang for the buck.

You could pull the fuse, but then you don’t reap the benefits of removing the unit. By removing the entire ABS modulator and brackets you:
1) Increase space quite a bit increasing air flow to the engine
2) Remove quite a bit of clutter in addition to able to run other types of setups easier i.e. supercharger/turbocharger setups.
3) Decrease a substantial amount of weight for better transfer.

Why remove ABS.
1) ABS inoperable.
2) Weight
3) Aftermarket rear ends typically less expensive when NOT choosing ABS option (can save up to 175.00)
4) Need the space for other items
5) Hate the way the engine bay looks cluttered
6) Tire size differences
7) Road race applications
8) Drag race applications

Answering the initial question. If you have a LL from either our LL kit or many other styles, have a double flare tool kit, the basic kits for 139.99 which include the pre-formed lines and necessary fittings including a proportioning valve are the best bet. The kits are organized for folks having a variety of parts so that they are not re-purchasing parts they do not need.

Difficulty of install is relative to the user. I'd say a typical kit would take a first time user ~2 hours to complete. Probably the most time consuming part would be running the electrical lines into the interior and placing the switches and LED where you want them. Our kits are complete.

Our LL kits are also complete if removing ABS is not your cup of tea. We always include full pictorials WITH schematics of the electrical install...we also support our products fully with personalized install e-mail or phone support. All our kits retain benifits where most others fall short.

Hope this helps,

Steve

why do you need a switch and leds for abs removal?

Do you have any deals on abs delete kits with line locks?

The switches and LED are for the line lock portion of the circuitry. If you already have a line lock, then you reuse your current setup. Our kits are set as online specials right now.

Steve, can you go into detail about the benefit of deleting ABS say for autoX? Cause I have an ABS inop light on all the time, need to lose some lbs on the front end, am getting a moser 9" w/no ABS, could use less clutter, and will be setting the car up for autoX. On the street will it be more dangerous in the rain (ie lock up and skid)? Thanks in advance.

If your ABS lamp is ilumininated, you're ABS is deactivated...so you have no benifits currently (I feel for what most use F-bodies for there are very few benifits...(when their ABS is working correctly))

Removing the ABS will remove weight and have less clutter in your engine bay. The proportioning valve will allow you to adjust your brake bias fine tuning it which is better then what you have currently.
