SFC help please.
hey guys, just got my subframes in today, and they came with no instructions, so basically i'm asking for pics for location placement help for me, and if they need to be welded by any specific weld. ( no i'm not a welder, so idk, my cuz is gonna be doing the welding for me. ) thanks in advance guys for a simple question!

Make sure the installer loads the suspension/frame when they do the install. You don't want the car hanging on a jack or jack-stands when they do the weld. Just because they might tell you they have installed sfc's many times, doesn't mean they have done it right all of those times.
Lastly just because a welder is a good welder doesn't mean that they know how to install sfc's.
After you have installed the sfc's you will notice one side of the car will actually raise off of the ground as you jack up one side. That's how much the sfc's will stiffen up the frame. This fact should tell you that the frame is bending or twisting without the sfc's (the reason for the sfc's is to stiffen the frame) and if the frame is not completely straight when you weld the sfc's in...then cocked frame possibly.
So cheap isn't always best nor does it mean experience is always 'done right'.
In my area, a good shop will do the install for less than a $100.

my cousin is a great welder and so is one of my friends, but they haven't ever installed SFC's and they don't have a car lift. so i guess i'm gonna have to go have them done somewhere....thx for the advise though, i still wish they woulda came with some instructions i'm sure it coulda just been figured out but i like to do things like this right by the manufacturers directions myself....i'm picky like that.

Here are some instructions.
Note that they elected to install with jackstands as opposed to loading the suspension using a drive-on lift. But they do point this out and suggest using a drive-on lift in their instructions.
Since we know the f-body twists and flexes I would install on a drive-on lift instead of a 4-point lift.
Also: I wonder how many people disconnect the battery before they weld on the car. How many back-yard mechanics know that you should do that?
At this site search for: Suspension/Subframe connectors
