do i have to do anything before putting springs on?

Default do i have to do anything before putting springs on?

its a 98 ss with rear spohn upper and lower control arms, stock shocks, i have a brand new set of eibachs pro kit, i hear that you have to change the shocks and struts before you install these. what is your opinion?

You can get by without changing them but it's highly recommended. You'll also need an adjustable panhard bar to center the rearend and some relocation brackets for the LCAs.

if you are planning on shocks/struts sometime for the future, just go ahead and do them. the rears are very easy to put in, but the fronts are such a pain that you should just do it all at once (springs and shocks).
