Default Lowered on stock shocks...?

Well, I finally saved up enough to buy a set of rims and tires, which will be on within the next couple weeks. So, now I am looking to drop it, but I don't have the $600 it will cost me for springs and shocks yet.

So, my question is, how long would the stock shocks last with lowering springs (1-1.5" drop) ? ...and how rough would the ride be?

Also...what lowering springs would everyone reccommend?

Just trying to decide if I should just wait and do the springs/shocks together later, but I know it will look bad without a drop with my rims on for a month or so.

very rough ride, the stock shocks will wear quickly, and you'll make the performance worse than before.

AFA the other info, a thread search is your best bet, or...

talk to Sam Strano.

I installed -2" intrax springs w/new stock shocks but it is only temporary to get the look without the big $$ I'm going w/Koni & GC coilovers when I get the $1100. So far no complaints about the ride w/stock shocks though.

Hmmmm.... Wait untill you control those springs with a good damper, you'll soon realize what a complete POS those stockers were.

I ran my stock shocks after I lowered my car for over a year with no problems at all. Would I do it again? Probably not, but I see nothing wrong with it, as my car handled fine.

I say wait and buy the shocks/springs together. You might as well install them both at the same time since you have full access to the shocks once you compress the springs. What wheels are you getting that you think will make your car look bad without being dropped?

Alright thanks for all the responses everyone....I still don't know what to do...but I'll probably end up waiting until I have the money for both to drop it.

...and Krab I got 18x9.5 and 17x8.5 chrome C6 rims that I'm gonna be putting on.
