Default rack and pinion

So the rack and pinion on my camaro make a terrible creaking and cracking noise. I took the car to the shop and they said i need to replace it. I found a website steeringrack.com where i can get a new rack and pinion for pretty cheap i just have to send them my old one for the core charge. I have a 98 camaro z28, but i dont know if my car has the firm suspension or not. does anybody know how to find that out?

If interested I have a buddy who is selling one for $40 just to get rid of it, since he is going with a manual rack.

dude you should be able to go to your local auto parts store and have them get you the right part # to match your year... i went to napa and they could never get the right one (went through ******* about 4 of 'em... literally, and none of them fit) then i went to kragen and the first shot, they got the right one
