Default hawk HPS vs Ceramic

after reading countless posts, i've decided to go with brembo blanks for rotors, but i still cannot find a clear answer as to the difference between the hawk HPS and Hawk Ceramic from a performance and dusting point of view.

my vehicle's purpose is a street car that sees occassional drag use, so i dont need a review from someone that does track duty or uses slotted/drilled rotors, cuz those seem to make everything dust higher than normal.

the ceramics are like $3 more per set than the HPS on tirerack, so if they are better for my purposes, then that's what i'll go with.

Weird that you heard they make more dust with the slotted rotors...

I have the powerslot pro-stop dimpled and slotted rotors with the HPS pads and It by far surpasses my factory set-up! I honestly don't have much brake dust... and my rims are black so it would show super easy! I've had the setup for about 2 years now and it has been GREAT! I would think the ceramic ones would be more prone to sqealing and noise... My car is a daily driver with minimal track use, lots of street racing

i thought the stock pads were ceramic? they make no noise and are very low dust, so i was hoping that the hawk's would be similar, but stop better.

Ceramics are quieter and dust less than semi-metallic. I run The Raybestos (?) quiet stops and drive the car pretty hard. No noise, no dusting, no brake fade, and no warped rotors (makes sure my wheels are torqued correctly. Big issue with out cars.)
