Default Heated Springs

Just wanted to know who decided to heat their springs, instead of buying the lowering springs. Also, whats da difference in handling??

Heating springs ruins them.

heating the springs and allowing them to cool slowly would lower the spring rate. That means they would flop around like crazy.

Heating the springs isn't a good idea. You can find a set of lowering springs in the parts for sale forum for real cheap.

I just don't think you would end up with what you wanted. If you still wanted to try it just get some other pair of stock springs at the junkyard or on ebay. BUT please please don't try it on your orginal factory springs!!

Lots of people cut the factory springs and that works fine for lowering.

Yes, just make sure you dont put a lot of heat into them (cutting with a blowtorch) But I still say you should just buy springs. Im broke and in college, but id rather do it the way I want it the first time, than to do it half assed for now, and whole assed later.

If you could use a cutting saw with a water jet or keep spraying cutting oil you should be ok. Very limited travel though. Don't cut progressive rate springs!
