Default Fabrication?

I was thinking about prototyping my own suspension products out of chromoly tubing and was wondering if anyone else has done this and how did it turn out?

How good a weldor are you, and how do you intend to
test the product short of driving it hard, as your own
crash test dummy? These are the two key questions.

Welding comes down to the individual doing it. I know
better than to trust -my- handiwork.

i've fabricated my transmission crossmember, but thats about it. i was thinking about fabbing some subframe connectors but i cant bring myself to do it. you have to really trust your skills in doing something like that.
