Default steering column questions

ok...I've had the replacement column forever...but I've never even looked into what work was involved I was wondering if anyone knows of a walk through type thing? also my brights switch is broken on the current column...like I can pull the whole switch out should I buy a new one or do you guys think that the actual stick is re-usable?

thanks

I could never get the actual stick out. I could get the housing off. Probably better to just replace the whole housing.

The switch is at the bottom of the column. The handle at the top just slides a rod back and forth through the column. It's easy to get to if you already have the column out, or even with it lowered into the seat. Take out a couple of screws, and lift the rod out of the hole in the switch.
