Default adjustable STB?

what are the advantages to an adjustable strut tower brace over the standard non adjustable version? my car will be primarily set up for drag racing and a torque arm would be next on the list if i had like $200 more, just looking to eliminate some chassis flex.
thanks,
Mike

STB will not really help you in Drag racing aplication. It helps mostly on Road Racing and Auto X, specially if you are using aftermarket shocks with stiffer front springs, although it still helps a bit with the stock setup.

I don't believe there are any adjustable shock tower braces (STB's), now pan hard rods and lower control arms is another story.

I stand corrected. Either way, if it were my car, I wouldn't put it on. Do a search on the subject and you'll find a few good reads about just how functional an STB is. It's basically dead weight on the nose of your car.

If you wallow out your bolt holes on your struts (for alignment purposes) I could see the advantage of an adjustable one.....

Our alignment is determined by the position of the control arms in their mounting locations. Or front suspension is differnt than a mustang.

I see an adjusable shock tower mount as a waste. If you preload it all you will do is push the strut towers furthur apart and thats just gona throw the alignment off.

STB=HTLO+DWN

Translation: A strut tower brace is a handle to lean on and a dead weight on the nose. Will do nothing to alter the geometry of the front end, nor prevent anything that isn't occuring, which includes placebo effects. Most of the loads are going through the K-member, not the shock towers.

It might help keep the twist down if you are pulling the wheels on launch in an un-caged drag car on slicks to a < 1.5 60'. Other than that, it is what Foxxtron said. Besides if you have a drag car like that, you SHOULD have a totally tied-in cage in the thing!!
