Most likely cause is the rear sway bar bushings, where the sway bar is connected to the rear axle. I've greased the bushings before, but the best thing I've done to help the squeak was to cut 2 strips of hard plastic in the width of the bushing (like what quart bottles of oil are made of) and wrap one layer around the sway bar under each bushing. Between the bushing and the sway bay if you catch what I'm meaning. I know it sounds bad, but it has worked for the really bad squeakers that I've run into, lol

Thanks Joeseph again, seems like your the only one that ever replies to my questions !!
Well, thats good to know that it is the sway bar bushings. Do you know if anyone sells a little better quality bushing that wouldnt squeak like that ? I dont mind spending a little cash to get rid of the squeak permenantly.

I would try to find some greasable Energy Suspension Polyeurethane sway bar bushings. Poly is usually noisier than the stock bushings, but thats why they have grease fittings on them

I try to answer the posts with zero post count first, I guess thats always yours, j/k

Default What is the squeak in my rear end ??????

Ive noticed latley that I have developed a squeak in the rear end of my car when going over bumps. I have heard others talk about the same problem, but have forgotten the cause of it. What makes the squeak, and what can be done to fix it. I dont want to have to grease the bushings every month or so, is there some part I could replace and eliminate the squeak, plus gain some suspension peformance ?
