Default Need rear help, clanging while backing up or easing ahead

ok i only notice this when im seaing outta my garage or backing up slowlyyyyyy...

but there is this grinding/clangy sound coming from my rear... sounds like its coming from the rotor... i took off the tire and the rotor seems to have ALOT of play in it. esp around the stud holes... is that normal???

its a hard to describe sound.. i thought maybe it could be my LCA'S binding up???? any ideas?? or is my rear going bye bye, and i caught it in the early stages...

its not my drive shaft banging, just when i back up slowlyyy i can hear it from the rear.. vibrates car... almost feels like something is binding or slipping.. but its defintly not normal...

Try backing up with the brake pedal slightly down and see if it changes the noise...also try backing up with the emergency brake slightly engaged...both should help you diagnose a brake problem...the noise/vib should change if it's one or the other...have you serviced the diff lately...could be time for a lube change if the posi is slightly binding.

well i put the tires back on today.. torqued them down,, went forward and backward... no thump?? maybe the wheel was just loose???

but if its gears/ring it woulda still made the sound... so its gotta be something small, hopefully it was just the wheel loose <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
