Redline's "Shockproof Gear Oils"
About 1,000 miles ago I had a Superior 4.10 installed on my stock 10 bolt. I also had a T/A girdle installed for added durability. The gear is great and the gains have definately been worth it. However, I would like to further lessen the chance of breakage so I began to consider changing my gear oil to one of the thicker 85-140 weights (Redline or RP).
Redline's web site references their "shockproof gear oils" which, "contain a unique solid dispersion which cushions gear teeth to help prevent tooth breakage." Redline claims this oil is for, "heavily loaded racing differentials."
Sounds to good to be true! Does anyone recommend getting this shockproof type or should I stick with the standard stuff?
Thanks in advance.

There just isn't any helping the poor little 7.5" rearend once the shock levels get high. If it's going to break it's going to break and then it's time for a 12-bolt.
That's probably some really good oil though! <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">

Re: Redline's "Shockproof Gear Oils"
I've been using Redline Shockproof for a couple of years. Had it in my 3:23's and now with 3:73's. Does limit whine.
I don't hit my stock rear anywhere near what some on this board do, but for me it works. Both rears probably have over 250 launches with no problems.
