Default turned stock rotors and hawk pads

I had a warped rotor on the passenger side disk, nothing new with stock rotors. So I had both fronts turned and put hawk pads on. I had a .50th warp in the passenger side I think, seems like a lot to me, but it was turn able… at lest I was told it was. I put everything back together and now I have a large amount of dust on the passenger side, I would say ¾ more then driver’s side, the wheel looks kinda like a Penney. No noise, stops fine, everything seems normal other then the dust.

I guess I could clean all of it off and see if it comes back but I has been getting worse in the last few days. We have had a lot of rain to if that makes a difference

Thanks…

I would clean it off to see what comes back. Also on a side street as you come to a stop let go of the steering wheel to see if the wheel goes left & right, this would show morw worp. The dust mightbe from new turned rotors just cutting into the brakes better.

I cleaned them off right after I posted, but I have only driven the car a few times, but I can’t tell if there is any extra dust. I think you might be right about he pads getting use to the turned rotors. I would say no the car does not pull when I brake. I will try and let go of the wheel and see if I get any pull from ether side. Could air in my lines cause something like this also?

Thanks for the post

I was worried after I had a lot of dust build up on the passenger’s side. I have cleaned the wheels a few times and the dust keeps coming back much faster on the passenger side. The rotor on that side it getting much hotter then the drivers side, just with a few normal stops the rotor would be unpleasant to touch, on the other hand the drivers side is just warm. The driver’s side rotor does not seem to be wearing down as fast I can still see the marks from where it was turned.

The car does not pull to ether side when I brake

It sounds like you need to lube the sliders on the passenger side. My passenger side ones were nearly siezed when I did my brakes this weekend. Maybe the dude on the passenger side at the factory wasn't doing as good of a job? Anyway, I pulled them out and cleaned them up and regreased them and they slide in and out good as new. I made sure to get the little rubber seal on right, that seems like an easy way for them to sieze up again.
