Default Line/Brake/Launch Control/Lock question. . .

Not the normal one either!

Got a B&M solenoid for my line lock.

Installed it, had leaks, removed it, fixed leaks and installed it again.

Got an 01' Z28 with ABS and ASR.

Took rear line from brake master to the RF port on the ABS box and thats where the solenoid is between. . .

Took it over by my Wal Mart where there is a safe strip of street nothing behind and clear in front.
Turned ASR off, turned on exhaust dump, pressed firmly on brakes and turned on Brake Lock.
Let off brake, and pressed clutch, raised to about 2000 RPM and slowly let out on clutch.
Heard turning, but smelled clutch!!!
All 4 wheels are locked. . . I don't get it

Anyone?

Picture below!

I originally had a line from point "A" to point "RF"

Thank you!

Duff

***Update***

Knowing full well I had not screwed up part of the install here, I took the car to a VERY REPUTIBLE shop here in town (Alamo Performance) and had Roy look at it. He sprayed some water on the back asphalt and told me to do a burnout. . .
W/car running, backed into the puddle, hit neutral, ensured power available to the solenoid, pressed firmly on the brakes, turned on the solenoid/line-lock and reved to 2K and slowly let out on the clutch.

FAILURE! The conclusion he and I both came to agree upon is my ABS block is lined improperly. Now, I request anyone with ABS (still intact and functional) if you could, snap a shot of your block and post here. . .the higher res, the better I'm considering lifting the front of the car and applying the lock to see if either wheel up front locks and the same in the back later on. This should show me how the lines are mis-connected.

Other ideas are more than welcome!!!

the problem isnt the linelock install its your method of doing a burnout

reving the car to only 2k and slowly letting the clutch out is gonna get the clutch so hot all its going to do is slip.

rev it to 5k and dump it

Alright, maybe you can't read, wet street tires. . .wouldn't turn. . .
and the shop tech tried it also with me standing outside watching. I failed to put this info. You are right though the problem isn't the install. It works fine! Just on the back wheels!!! ABS block is the only remaining possible fault. I didn't go high w/the engine speed because of last night smelling clutch!!! 5K dump with the rear wheels LOCKED is stupid!

My block is connected identical to the way yours is (was) to the master cylinder, sorry but I havn't takes more pics for you yet I've been busy as hell. The connection on the box that you have going to the solenoid is connected to the rear (firewall side) of the master cylinder on my car

Thank you Z! Took it to the track tonight and didn't use the LL. Still warmed up the Nittos enough for a 1.9683 60' (my personal best so far) and a 13.21 (also my best so far) but I'm not happy with it. . .gotta get 12.9999

I'll snap a picture of the backside of my block also tomorrow for reference... I might also crawl under there and trace out the lines...that might be a good move!

Thanks again!

Take a look at the first two pictures. . .my OLD ABS setup and Z Drivers1s setup. . .notice how the front two lines on his twist in between the back two ? Mine did not do that. . .

So. . .what happened here is prior to my getting the car someone totally hosed up the ABS lines

I had to switch a & b AND also switch c & d.

With this completed, I can NOW lock my front wheels for a burnout Had motivation from Daez tonight.

Got it fixed!!!!!! Thanks Ben! ! !

Went to Radio Shack and bought a 4-pack of momentary switches to replace my dash-mounted line-lock switch. Gutted part of my gear shift ****, channeled a path for the wire (old phone charger wire) and soldiered it up right! Used hotglue inside the **** to hold it for extra strength. Final result is below. Tested w/line lock and works good!

Yes, I know the one below is turned around Showing handy-work!

Yep and I've got it tied in specifically so that I've got to have my exhaust dump open to allow power to the linelock. This way, I can't accidentally hit the linelock.

Duff, glad that you got everything ironed out ok. When we spoke on the phone, it didn't cross my mind that someone re-installed the brake lines incorrectly on the ABS modulator.

Z driver, YES it is important to have a switch that ONLY activates when you hold the button in. IF you have a kit that has a switch that is NOT momentary and it is the only switch that you have to activate the line lock, this is not track legal and VERY unsafe to use this way.

That's a good idea. I like the fact that it's on the drivers side of the **** too so a passenger can't see it
