Default Independant Rear???

Does anyone know of anyone who has sucessfully put an IRS setup in an LS1 F-Body? I had heard someone saying something about swapping one from a C-4 for like $9k+ but didn't know if anyone had done it yet?
Just Curious,
Mike

well... it can be done...

you're pretty much going to have to do the work yourself though...

it shouldn't cost you 9k unless you pay someone to do it for you

you could get a corvette rear out of a junk yard for probably around 200-1000 dollars...

IRS isn't a legal modification for competition in certain Classes.. that's why you don't hear much about it

Mike,
I also was looking into this a while back. I've been so busy at work I haven't had a chance to follow up. Anyways, here's what I know. No one offers a kit to install IRS in our cars. People have done custom setups in 3rd gens, haven't seen any 4th gens, 3rd gens used C4/C5 IRS.

There've been some shops that have claimed that they will/are developing kits. Probably all of these are BS.

I have a link to one place I contacted www.precisionbrakescompany.com . Daryl said that they might make a setup for 4th gens, they currently make 8.8" custom IRS setups for Cobras. He sent me the dimensions of the IRS, and I was supposed to see if it would come close to fitting. That's when I got very busy, but I'll be working on the car this weekend and will see if there's any chance it could fit.
