Certainly its safe to turn them.. Just make sure they are thick enough, which im sure they are. They will eventually warp again.. but by then you should be able to buy some aftermarket rotors.. The reason why they will warp again is because the metal has already gotten hot enough to warp and change metal properties... So its only a matter of time before it does it again... Aftermarket rotors with slots and crossdrills will help prevent the rotors from getting hot enough to warp again...

My car has 46k. Rotors are also warped. Can they be turned? Or just replaced.

TBaGZ, if you can't afford new ones right now there's nothing wrong with having them turned as long as there's enough material. I would, however, recommend taking them to a reputable shop, preferably a machine shop, for two reasons:
(1) They will mic your rotors to ensure they aren't too thin (ask them what the thickness is when you get them back just to be safe).
(2) I've found that your run of the mill auto parts store doesn't generally keep it's brake lathes/cutting tools in the greatest condition, which can result in a less than ideal rotor surface.

With that said, my experience with rotors is that you are better off just replacing them if they're warped. Once you turn them (assuming there's enough material) they are now even thinner and will be even more prone to warping again.

Hope that helps <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I just want to make it through the rest of the summer with them and then get some eradispeeds or something in the winter.

You'll be fine through the summer.. Afterwards, either a set of Eradispeeds, if you can afford them, would be good.. In my case, i couldnt afford those.. so i got a set of RotoTech drilled and slotted rotors from Speed Inc.. So far i love em.. Using Hawk HPS pads with them...
