Brake Pad Debate
I use the KVR Carbon Metallic pads with KVR cross drilled rotors. Excellent braking, virtually no brake dust, no rain fade (important in South Florida) and absolutely no noise. They can be had for about $120 USD from an authorized KVR dealer (which I am).
I have found that the Raybestos Quiet Stop ( QS )pads work great, there ceramic so there's only a little dusting, stoping power is good also. Here's the link to them http://www.raybestos.com/quietstop.htm .
im using hawk HPS ones. they dont dust as bad as my parents benzs' (what the hell are those things made of anyways <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> ). but they dust a little more than stock. they improved stopping a lot though.
Also use Hawk HPS, like em better than stock. They do dust a bit more than stock. Might try EBCs next just for experimentation sake. Any one here try em yet?

I had used Performance Frictions on my '94 for years, they would usually last one season of autocrossing for me. Than i got a really noisey set and haven't used them since. I switched to porterfield enterprizes carbon kevlar pads. The feel isn't as good as the PFC's because they are more compressible, however they also don't make all the noise and don't require the heat up time like PFC's as well. Important in a D-town winter. As for dust, is a necessary evil.

I'm using EBC Greenstuff and they dust less than stock with good stopping power. I got them after reading a long thread on here about pads, you might want to search for it.

I got quietstops on the front..have kvr rotors and got kvr pads on the rear as raybestos didn't or doesn't make quietstops for the rear.I have some sqealing with the kvr rears...not sure why..
I put some antisqueal on them when they were installed..the quietstops barely dust and the kvr are pretty good also.Thinking I might try stock 2002 pads or migh wait for quietstops to be made for the rear..anyone get quietstops on the rear yet.?? The kvr dont' squeal near as bad as my stock 99 pads did..those were just horrible.

I'm running Raybestos Quietstops (ceramic) up front and semi-metallics Raybestos on the rear. I don't believe Raybestos has a ceramic rear pad. Anyway, there is zero noise and almost no dust at all. They are fairly inexpensive too. I purchased them at Pep Boys.

OEM brake pads win the debate with the guidelines that you set.
why do you want to compromise braking performance by not allowing brake dust?
you either have a race car.. or you have a street car
oem pads work great.. seriously

Your right the OEM pads suck.
The real reason that we warp our rotors is because of the OEM pads. That and the fact that almost no service guy follows the 20 ft lb at a time torquing prcedure found in the manual. I wish I could explain why the pads cause the warping, but the best thing to do is read this.

I have seen EBC pads used on other cars and if you can get them they will fit what you are looking for.

I had Pepboys pads at my last autox. They gave up on lap 4(1.9mile course, 7 turns) and I only hit them hard 3 or 4 times. I'm definitely getting some aftermarket onces for next time. I too though stock or stock replacement pads were plenty. Street driving yes it is. For the street they are great. Just don't autox with them.
