Camaro vs. Corvette
If you just wanna beat a stock vette, put nice racing tires on the fbody and outdrive the other guy
I agree with getting the vette. Its going to cost you to get the Camaro to handle like a vette. You pretty much have to change shocks, sway bar, tires, and lose some weight..

That still wont make it handle like a vette. My SS with adjustible coil over springs (autoX rates), bilsteins, every suspension mod known to man, and nitto R tires on all four corners feels nothing like my vette. Its a totally different car altogether. My camaro would probably do better in autoX and its hellafun to drive, but it just doesnt have the smooth sportscar handling feel to it. You have to muscle it around.
the C5 is far superior to any 4th gen F-body on anybody's drawing board...
if you do go for a Camaro, just get a Z28.. you don't really get anything that you need with an SS, it's just an appearence package

Thanks JMX for putting down my car...

I don't think jmX is putting your car down, but comparing the handling characteristics of a Corvette to a Camaro, is like comparing an apple to an orange. The Vette has 4 wheel independent susp, lower center of gravity, better weight distribution, a chassis that is a flat as a pancake, the list goes on and on.
Two AWESOME cars, but just different beasts. I love my SS's but I will get a Vette too.
