Default Cutting Springs?

I want to lower my rear even to the front. I was planning on lowering the car about 1/2"-3/4" in the rear. The back measures about 3/4"-1" higher than the front. I dont want the back lower than the front!

Sooo.

How much coil should I cut off the spring?
Thanks! <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

before you do that, just remove the spacer from above the rear spring, should take about 15 minutes to try.. if that is still to high then cut the spring a half coil at a time with a cutoff wheel. good luck.

I didn't even realize that there's a spacer above the rear springs. I'll have to check that out. I'd like to do this as well. Has anyone had any luck with it?

Well, everyone claims removing the rubber spacer lowers the car an inch or more but it only lowers the car about a half inch. Its a myth. Anyone that has actually removed it will tell you so. Actually, it lowered the car about 3/4 but I put a piece of high pressure hosing around the top coil to keep the spring from rubbing metal to metal with the frame. If you did'nt use the hose I would assume it would be pretty damn annoying. I didn't try it without the hose, actually I put the rubber piece back in and just cut the spring which I suggest you do as well. The first quarter to one third of the spring is a dead coil. I suggest removing 3/4 coil total to start and then going down in two inch increments. 3/4 of a coil should put you right there or very close. KEEP IN MIND that a full tank of gas is going to lower the rear about a half inch or so vs. an empty tank. Maybe even more with full springs. With me, even missing two coils for a stiffer spring it lowers the rear a quarter inch.

I've been running my car with no spring isolator for over a year now. I hear no noises at all, and see no bad side to it. I'd highly recommend it if you want to lower your rear by 3/4" or so.

I'll remove the wheels this Friday and I'll take a look at them. What's involved in removing them? Do I need to remove the springs to get the spacer out. If so, I'll just cut a little bit of the coil off.

I meant to ask what's involved in removing the spacers, not the wheels. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" />
