Default Am I going to rip out my Rearend?

My friend has 425rwhp and drag radials and still hasn't broken his rearend. He doesn't launch it often but even from a roll 15mph+ it lifts the nose quite a bit. I don't think he has much wheelhop either.
I recently lowered my car and have terrible wheel hop from the middle throughout first and second gear. I figured I would need some LCA's for the wheel hop and an Adj. PHR to re-allign the rear. What I'm worried about is that my rearend will get planted too much. I want to go 400rwhp without changing my rearend like my friend. I'll just stay on street tires and NO LAUNCHES. But I bet even though my buddy has DR's to boot that I will break my rear before he does. He still has his stock suspension and clutch in his 98 WS6. I plan on doing LCA's, adj. PHR and a SPEC Stage 3 Carbon and 02' Slave. With the suspension doing its job now and the clutch not slipping anymore that will put all of the stress on the rear won't it? What are my chances?

Another thing is I hear wheel hop is the worst thing for your rearend and will destroy it in a second. So whats worse, wheelhop that is lessening power to the wheels or no wheelhop that is giving the rearend every bit of the power?

Wheelhop is definitely a bad thing. I would think that even though you get all the power to the rear, you are not shocking it like you would with the wheelhop. Besides, if you get too much power to the wheels, the tires will spin anyway.

If you're gonna stay on the street and not do any 6000rpm launches with sticky tires I would say you'll be find if you can get rid of wheel hop. You still have the 3.42's? That will help you save it

Once you go to a tire better suited for the power and type of driving you do and or get a set of gears then you're gonna have to start saving for a 12 bolt/9".

Since you lowered your car I'd highly recommend relocation brackets for the LCA's
