Default Torque for lugnuts on this car.......

1998 WS6 T/A.

I'm wondering because someone told me that rotors can warp if the correct ft. lbs. are not used. My new rotors are going on today.

It's suggested you torque the lug nuts dry but I always use Anti-Sieze on the threads, in all the years I've be wrenching on cars I've never had a lug nut freeze up on me.

Wayne, as soon as I get out of the mental hospital ( again ) I'm going to mix you up a special batch of ccccceeeeeemmmmmeeeeeeennnnnntttttt.

Well, I went to have my new Eradispeeds installed and two of the bolts sheared off while taking them out. It's the bolts that are located on the bottom of the outer brake piece, not the piston part. The mechanic said these bolts are supposed to move freely from side-to-side. He said that Pep Boys probably didn't grease them when they reinstalled them. He got one out and the other one just won't budge. I know, why did I ever go to Pep Boys?
Anyway, tomorrow morning the new piece and all new bolts and pins will be at the shop.

Thanks for the replies.

Quickin, sorry to hear about your bad luck, I guess I'm not understanding which bolts you're talking about. I know of no bolts that are supposed to move side to side, are you talking about the caliper bolts?

The ideal way would be to tighten the lug nuts 50/75 and then 100 ft/lbs, another good thing would be use the star pattern. In case you haven't seen the star pattern before here's a poor drawing I did.

For daily driving, I go 95-100ft.lbs ...

However, if I hit a road course, I go to 85 ft.lbs. Heat expansion "welds" the lugs on till they cool.

I used Al's instructions along with his pentagram changing out wheels two months ago. Al may be but my Rotors are not warped.
