Hey guys i was just wondering if scraping the y pipe and the subframe connectors once or twice is bad for the car. When i say bad, i mean as bad as changing the y pipe or having it checked. I just had the eibach prokit/bilstein hd installed today and i drove back to school. On the way out of a gas station I scraped the bottom pretty bad, i thought i got stuck on the ridge. Also, there were some pretty bad potholes on the 5. Please give your imput PLEASE!!! thanks

If you hit hard enough so that it stopped the car or you got hung up, then I would assume that some damage has occurred until proven otherwise. Take a good look.

One of my friends told me that if I did damage the y pipe or any other pipe that i could easily hear the problem. Is this true. Also i'm probably going to have this checked when i'm installing the cutout, but how do i make sure that the shop wont give me **** and rip me off

well, think logicaly,
you scraped your y-pipe hard, what can be the damage ?
it can be bent over, kind squashed, or has a hole(s) on it, so you will be able to hear it because it will produce the kind of effect of the cutout, will be louder then your stock exhaust..
just my 2 cents <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

you would have to get under the car and see exactly what you are hitting and how bad. Mine is lowered 1-1.5" and I scrape my y-pipe all the time on speed bumps if i'm too lazy to do a big angle cut. Just be careful in the future, these cars scrape enough at stock height, not to mention what they're like when they're lowered.
