Default WS6 vs T/A suspension

what are all the differneces and would i be able to tell a difference betwene the stock WS6 and the spl suspension package

It depends on the year. '96+ WS6 has a 32mm front sway bar. '96-'99 has 1LE springs and several 1LE suspension parts like LCA's and PHB. The later cars also have the same shocks, springs etc as the base Z28, and basically have 17" wheels and a front sway bar for suspension upgrades.

so is the slp kit (or just springs and shocks) worth getting for an 01 ws6

Depending on your year, as is mentioned above, you probably have most of the 1LE set up. The only difference would be the bushings on the front control arms and the shocks. The full 1LE setup has some higher durometer rubber bushings on the front upper and lower control arms, and Koni double adjustable shocks all around. I'd recommend just getting yourself some shocks and possibly some matching springs (depends on the shocks you get).
