Sadly, Lee probably posted in this message to clarify that the part was in an accident so that there wasn't bandwagoning that "you should have purchased "X" brand instead as they produce a better product. Recall, BMR was one of the primary inovators and designers with these components...many of the others are just following their designs. There is a design curve where changes and improvements occur over time of course...
free replacement...If its under warranty, then possibly...otherwise, there is no validity or this component replaced for free. If he did recieve it for free, it certainly would be a kind gesture that BMR would have gone far above what was necessary. ...same goes for GM and replacing one of their components that are not under warranty.
This is nothing against you RrCo so no disrespect intended. It never fails to amaze me how folks expect companies to warranty parts forever...let alone being a race piece which typically is not under warranty or very limited to manufacture defects or workmanship.
Some of you guys complain that aftermarket parts are so expensive and want them for almost nothing, when things are offered at very cut-rate pricing, then they want the vendor to warranty their product for the life of the car.
Maybe a solution as with GM or Sears would be to purchase an additional warranty would be something to consider or ask your manufacture or vendor to consider.
Purchase an engine, blow it up after a few runs or a season and see how well it would fly that the engine builder would repair and replace those parts for free.
