I need a good street & launch tire
I know someone will be able to help me with ideas. I want tires that will be able to handle well in both dry and wet, yet I need something I can launch with, without spinning through 1st and 2nd gear at a stop light. The tires will be for hard street racing, I will get slicks for the drag strip. I'm looking at about 600 RWHP and over 600 RWTQ.
Thanks
Jay

Nitto's handle well in the rain but need a lot of heat to work properly. BFG's suck in the rain. You may want to look into some MAX/ Ultra high performance tires from THE TIRE RACK
What kind and size wheels/tires you running now?
P.S. You gotto cut that sig down to 7 lines total

Re: I need a good street & launch tire
I was thinking about the Nitto RII, I hope that's what they are called, but I couldn't even find them on the Nitto website.
Right now I just have the stock 16" rims with 245/50/16 firestone firehawks. I'm going to get some 9.5 x 17 and 10.5 x 17 (315s)CCW wheels, as soon as I have the money. Engine buildup took it's toll on the old bank fund.
You can only have 7 lines for a sig? You've got to be shitting me? That sounds like something LS1.com would do, I had to look up and make sure I was at the right website.
Also a high speed rating is a must, high meaning 160 MPH or better.
Thanks
Jay

The Michelin Pilot Sport and the Kumho V700 Victoracer both look good. I think the Yokohama A032R looks about the best right now. What do you guys think?

No drag radial will hook 600rwhp up on the street with a hard launch....you'll have to roll into that monster....ET Streets would be a great help but probably not what you want.

The ET Streets would be great for launching, but when it rains down here, I don't want to be sliding all over the place.
I'm really thinking about getting those Yokohama A032R's for the back and Yokohama AVS Sport's for the front.
What do you guys think about these tires, will I be able to hookup on the street some what and how about cornering with these? Would it be better to run the Yokohama A032R's on the front and back?
Thanks Everyone.
