Default Opinions on Global West Trac-Link torque arm

I bought a GW Trac-Link from a friend and ALMOST had it mounted.. until I noticed how heavy and bulky this unit is compared to most. I'm really not up to adding any more weight to my car, and several road race enthusiasts tell me this piece is overkill for a street-driven car. Should I mount this piece? Is it all that it's cracked up to be? I do like the fact that it enhances corner-exit acceleration, but I would use it for drag racing also. Would I be better off just selling this and buying a lighter, more traditional torque arm?
