Default No traction.... Why???

I have a 98 T/A with headers, pulley, lid, ftra, and lca's. Why can I not get any traction. My car always spins and has horrible wheel hop. I don't think my car is putting out incredible hp numbers, so why can't I grab? I have some Yokohoma A520's on it that are fairly new, but it seems like they never hook. They used to hook just fine before I installed the headers, but now they just suck. Are my tires the ones responsible for my dreaded wheel hop and spinning? Also, I had broken my transmission mount, but have had it replaced with still barely any difference. Please help me! I'm fed up being slower than stock cars....

Did you install LCA relocation brackets? That should help eliminate your wheel hop problem. I have no experience with Yokohoma tires, sorry. FWIW, I'm having major traction issues too and I'm only putting about 325hp to the ground in my A4.

I thought you only needed the relocation brackets if your car is lowered. My car was lowered, but I put back the stock springs in the back to help traction, but did not help much...

If your lowered they correct the angle, maybe improves it a little, if they are put on a stock car they help plant the rear better when taking off as they shove the rear down more.
I had the yoko's they are a decent tire for cornering, I could push them pretty hard, I'm not so sure as far as launching, but I've never been in a car that if you floored it wouldn't spin some.
What wheels do you have......size?

Relocation Brackets should help on the wheel hop. A torque arm may help with the traction too. These cars are so light in the rear end they spin em real easy. Heck I can spin the daylights out of my tires through third! Need sticky tires, but the axle and clutch is so weak they'd blow with good tires. Catch 22. Practice.

they are spinning because they arent sticky enough, plain and simple. i have had a few sets of a520's on a virtually stock LT1 and would spin the crud outta them. get nittos and you wont have the same problem. when my suspension was new, i had a lot of wheel hop, as it wore out and got super freakin soft, wheel hop ended and Im now able to launch great and wont change the beat up worn out rear shocks for anything(i know its funny, and you'll prolly laugh, but it works for me) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
