Default Adjustable Panhard Question?

I'm thinking of dropping my 01 Z28 with eibachs, and i have been reading on the forum that you would need to realign the rear end with a adjustable panhard. My question is how does the panhard realign the rear end? What does a rear end look like without the ad.panhard?

Default Re: Adjustable Panhard Question?

The panhard bar runs across the rear of the car just behind the axle assembly. On the passenger side, it attaches to the fram & on the driver side it attaches to the axle tube, just inboard of the brakes.

The bar is on a slight angle (the pass. side mount is higher than the driver side mount). Soo... when you lower the car.. the body comes down lower over the axle & the panhard bar becomes more like parallel with the axle. So in effect, it is pushing the axle assembly toward the driver side of the car.

An adjustable panhard bar allows you to lengthen or shorten the bar so that you can center the axle in the body.

Here's an axample of an adjustable panhard bar:
