Default Do I Need New Tires?

My Camaro SS will soon be heavily modded. I will be pushing 436-451rwhp. I currently have BFG G-Force KDs on my car. I think that is good enough to withstand the horsepower increase. But, I've been told that I should consider different tires. What do you think?

Anything higher will not be safe for street usage.

My car is a M-6. I am currently using BFG g-force 275/40/17. I don't want to put drag radials on the car. It is an everyday driver and I want the car to take turns as well. Thanks
