Lowering car Hello guys,
A while back I brought American Racing Torque Thruster II's (9.5 inch I believe) for my Z28 A4. I also upgraded my tires to 275/40/17 all the way around. I'm thinking about lowering the car, what would be the best kind of shocks and springs to buy. Also what else would be needed for the drop. I do not want anything more than 2 inches. A 1.5 inch drop would be my preference.
The car is a daily driver also.

Re: Lowering car id go with either a pro kit and some bilsteins for a daily driver i just ordered mine and they should be on in about 3 weeks. you might want to get a PHR to recenter the rear since your lowering it... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: Lowering car For a nice daily driver-type ride with about 1.5" drop I would recommend:
- Eibach prokit springs
- Sam Strano Revalved Bilsteins or SLP Bilsteins
- Adjustable panhard rod (if needed - measure after lowering)
- LCA relocation brackets (BMR bolt-in work well and are easy to install)
- Alignment

Re: Lowering car Honestly, I haven't ever seen any complaints on any brand of lowering springs. Some lower the car more then others, just depends on your taste. A few I have seen used are Eibach sportlines, Eibach Pro kit, LG Motorsorts G2 Super springs (I think these are still on back order), Hypercoil (LG has these on sale I believe for like 25% off or something, and I am sure there are others. You will also want to buy an adjustable panhard rod to re center the rear. LGmotorsports also has theirs on sale right now for 25% off and you can even get it on layaway. Anyhow that's about all you need to lower the car. I would also recommend though maybe an aftermarket shock like maybe a bilstein or something to go along with it to get that little extra handling boost.
