Re: whats the biggest tire for my rims?
What is the biggest or best size tire for 18x9.5 with a 54mm offset???? Could use some help on that. Not trying to steal your thread, but I figured since our questions are close to same then it would be ok.

With that 18x9.5 you will need a 35 profile. Since the profile is so low, I wouldn't go over 285. Anything over that and handling will begin to suffer. 275 or 285 will do plenty if they are on the front. If you are referring to the rear, get the 18x10.5 as they will comfortable hold a 295
Don't expect spectactular light to light traction from a 35 or lower profile on the rear, but there will be a noticeable difference in cornering ability (always nice). These sidewalls don't flex much so when you're cornering hard and they let go, THEY LET GO!
Hope this helps.

You can run 285/40-17 all the way around, on the stock 17" wheels, even with the car lowered.
They give a little better cornering traction and look good too.
The pics shown here are KDWs 285/40-17 at all four corners (great tires .. especially for the price). The car is 1.5" lower than stock, using Bilstein Springs & shocks.
