Re: Changing Tire/Wheels help out wheel hop? With out a doubt do the suspension mods first. Going with a 275/40/17 tire could actually make the problems worse because there is less sidewall to cushion the shock of launching the car. Check out my sig for my mods.

Re: Changing Tire/Wheels help out wheel hop? Most of my wheel hop went away with my front sway bar. I still need a little more grip, but at least the burnouts are smooth and stable now. I would recommend sticking (ha, ha) with the 16's or even find some 15's for the track. Big tire sidewall will help. Low Profile tires are too hard.
