Anybody know how much spring front and rear to cut off the stock springs to lower the rideheight an inch?

2/3 of a coil on the front. Probably the same on the rear. Don't know for sure since I just removed the spring cushions back there.

Let me make sure I understand correctly....is that 2/3 of coil including the dead coil...or 2/3 of a coil after I remove the dead coil...which would really be 1 1/6 coils?

If that sounds weird how about this...if I wanted to lower the front 1/2" would I cut off 1 coil or 1/2 of a coil? Cuz if I am only cutting off 1/2 a coil..I am only cutting off the dead coil...right?

Cutting springs is confusing.

and also a bad idea if you take too much off. beleve me, i bought a car that had been "lowered". turns out the panhard rod, panhard mounting brace, Lca brackets, and who knows what else were all bent because of the geometry change. if you cut them only do a little. but i wouldnt advise it at all.

Is it safe to remove the spring cushions and how much of a drop did that give you in the back?

Yes, it is safe to remove the spring cushions. I had mine out for quite some time. Make sure you feed heater hose or the equivalent over the top coil though. I didn't measure the drop, but it got rid of the 4x4 Camaro look...maybe 3/4" or so.
