Well it's worse than I thought I watched the race and just took it completely off. The front tip of the torque arm is bent (not broke) down about 45 degrees or so.

I'm not launching that hard guys My best 60' was a 1.754 or something like that. But who knows it may have bent on the first pass and that it why my 60' was so slow. If I can find a digital camera I'll take a picture if someone can put it up for me.

I'll take it in on trade. you can send it to me along with $295, and I will ship you an G2 Torque arm. that goes for any other brands out there. $295, plus trade in.

I am serious here, and I don't care what brand you have. And if you ever break one of mine, I will replace it for free.

call me at 972-272-7753

I will definitely have to consider this. It bolts to the tail shaft of the tranny right just like the stocker? It looks like it.

If that is so why would it make an increase in road noise if it bolts there?

Damn!!! You broke the Spohn Torque arm! That thing looked bulletproof, although it was noisy. If they don't take care of you, look into a BMR setup. I'm installing one on that '95 Blown T/A you seen at the shop and its the strongest looking one I've ever seen for a drag setup.

Chad00ws6,

When did you get your TA? Is it the old style or the new style one? I just got the new one in the mail and it look plenty tough enough given I've cut 1.58s on the stock arm and slicks.

I'm sure Steve will help you out once you talk to him and he gets a chance to take a look at the piece. Catch him first thing on Monday because he's been busy getting caught up from the snow storms over the last few weeks.

Joseph,

The BMR also breaks. the tabs do not have enough give, so when the car torques over on launch, the arm either twists at the adjuster, or breaks the ears off.

Nine ball is using our G2 Torque arm and is pulling 1.38 60' times.

Lou, whats your honest opinion of the Random Tech TA? It seems stout, but is it?

Default Spohn Torque Arm killed in action.....

Well I think I found the problem behind my 1.75 60'............ .....I got up under the car to check a few things and guess what..I have bent the **** out of my Spohn "race version " torque arm at the front.

I guess that there goes my shot at making any passes any time soon because there is no way for me to buy a new one right now. I'm bought out for a while now.

It's amazing that a $400 torque arm only made 5 passes and gave up the ghost.

Oh well maybe if I get it fixed I will have my low 11 who knows. Peace everyone. I'm gonna go and watch some Nascar.

call Spohn.....I would think its pretty rare for an after market Torque Arm to bend

They might replace it all together for free. Whats the worst they can do, say no? Its worth a shot.

It's amazing to me too? I am going to call them Monday but you never know it's worth a shot anyway huh.

But unless they have redesigned this somehow I'd sort of be scared of it right now cause I ran it on all motor...

I don't even have a bottle on the car yet which was in the near future plans but probably not now.

**** happens I guess. You have to pay if you want to play huh

I just wish that my pay had lasted a little longer.

Local guy broke his BMR. He now has an HP Motorsport Mega Bite Torque Arm...same as me, and holding fine!
Breaking a Spohn is an accomplishment. There are 2 9 second Fbodys here running them without a problem.

So this is an accomplishment not a setback to me...lol

Oh well I will just have to do something soo because our local F-Body Shootout is in 3 weeks. I have the old style Spohn arm does that make a difference? I've had it a while now. on the car just ran it this weekend for the first time.

Cenman Spohn replied back to me and said that he would upgrade me to his newest heavy duty style arm for $125 if I ship the old one back to him. I will more than likely do that since I don't have $300 or more to put in a new one.
I will call him though to speak with him in person.

Chad00ws6,

You should be pleased with the new Spohn TA. I have one and have cut 1.66 60's on 17" Nittos in a lowered, full interior car. I had 2 areas with clearance issues due to being lowered, that Steve and I discussed before I bought it. Bottom line is, I love this TA. Good Luck to you.

Thinking of getting it.
